Grandma Ruthie

Tuesday Grandma Ruthie passed away--a loss we knew would happen but were hoping would not. Ruthie was a gem. She always made us laugh and she always made us feel loved. Her optimism and contentment was contagious. I already miss hearing her, being with her, and talking to her. I am so fortunate to have known her and have her in my life. Although she lived to be 92, our time seemed short. I'll always be thinking of her. A few things I especially loved about her...
New Year's Eve 2004--Our Wedding
She had a great laugh. She was a wonderful cook, the best butter noodles, especially when we were sick. She could whistle any bird's tune. She had the best imitation of Woody the Woodpecker. Her feet didn't touch the ground in most chairs. She took wonderful care of her husband, Grandpa Art, and her boys. She helped pick out my wedding dress. She loved to dance. She had beautiful handwriting and would always send notes. She loved to shop, especially for shoes. She always dressed nice and looked great. She called Drew "Andy." She always worried Ben was cold. She cared deeply about her friends and neighbors. She was honest and always spoke her mind. She was confident. She was kind. She was wonderful.
